Personal message: As an educator and leader, I believe teaching is about inspiring others to discover their purpose and potential. I love learning and becoming a teacher has guaranteed that I will never stop doing so. I am passionate about empowering students to be creative and critical thinkers. Through fostering positive relationships, we can create an authentic learning environment where students can engage in challenging and meaningful experiences.

Statement of areas of responsibility: As a Coordinator, Tameeka is responsible for guiding students in their faith formation through living the Catholic Mission. She is the lead teacher of the Diverse Learning team and is responsible for ensuring all students have access to the curriculum through diverse experiences. This involves liaising with teachers, parents, allied health professionals and students in order to identify, support and monitor the diverse needs of students within the school community. Tameeka is also responsible for promoting the importance of cognitive, social, physical and spiritual wellbeing across the school.

Professional experience: Tameeka has worked at St Christopher’s, Panania since the beginning of 2018 as a classroom teacher and in addition, a lead teacher in Diverse Learning. Prior to this, she was a learning support teacher at McAuley Catholic Primary School for 2 years. In 2019, Tameeka had the opportunity to develop her faith through travelling to Washington DC on a Sydney Catholic Schools Pilgrimage while attending Worth Youth Day in Panama.

Bachelor of Education (Primary) – Australian Catholic University
